The Apprenticeships (Specification of Apprenticeship Standards for Wales) Order 2013

The Welsh Ministers make the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(3) of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 20091.

In accordance with section 28(5) of that Act, theWelsh Ministers are satisfied that the specification of apprenticeship standards given effect by this Order complies with section 31.

This is the first draft specification of apprenticeship standards to be prepared after the commencement of section 28 of that Act, and in accordance with section 28(4), theWelsh Ministers were not required to consult such persons as they think appropriate.

Title, commencement and application1.

The title of this Order is the Apprenticeships (Specification of Apprenticeship Standards for Wales) Order 2013 and it comes into force on 23 June 2013.

This Order applies in relation to Wales.

The document entitled "The Specification of Apprenticeship Standards for Wales (SASW)" published by the Welsh Ministers on 13 May 2013 has effect.

This Order, made under section 28(3) of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 ("the Act"), brings the specification of apprenticeship standards for Wales into effect.

The Order specifies that the document entitled "The Specification of Apprenticeship Standards for Wales (SASW)" ("the document") has effect. The document has been prepared by the Welsh Ministers in accordance with the procedures in section 28 of the Act.

The document specifies the requirements that must be met for the recognised Welsh frameworks to be issued under section 19(1) of the Act.
