The Beef and Pig Carcase Classification (Wales) Regulations 2011

Coming into force
The Welsh Ministers being designated1 for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19722 in relation to the common agricultural policy of the EU, make these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by that section and paragraph 1A of Schedule 2 to that Ac3).

These Regulations make provision for a purpose mentioned in section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 and it appears to the Welsh Ministers that it is expedient for references in these Regulations to the following EU instruments to be construed as references to those instruments as amended from time to time—

  1. (a)
    Council Regulation (EC) No 1234/2007 establishing a common organisation of agricultural markets and on specific provisions for certain agricultural products4, and
  2. (b)
    Commission Regulation (EC) No 1249/2008 laying down detailed rules on the implementation of the Community scales for the classification of beef, pig and sheep carcases and the reporting of prices thereof5.
