The Cattle Identification (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2007

Coming into force

The Welsh Ministers who are designated for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721 in relation to the common agricultural policy of the European Community2 and in relation to measures in the veterinary field for the protection of public health3, make the following Regulations.

Title, application and commencement1

The title of these Regulations is the Cattle Identification (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2007; they apply in relation to Wales and come into force on 14 November 2007.

Amendment to the Cattle Identification (Wales) Regulations 20072

The Cattle Identification (Wales) Regulations 20074 are amended by adding after regulation 3(3) the following paragraph —

Any person who fails to comply with paragraph (1) or (3) is guilty of an offence.

These Regulations correct an error in the Cattle Identification (Wales) Regulations 2007 so as to make it an offence to fail to notify a holding under regulation 3.

A full regulatory impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
