Title and commencement 1 The title of this Order is the General Teaching Council for Wales (Additional Functions) (Amendment) Order 2007 and comes into force on 20 October 2007. 2 The General Teaching Council for Wales (Additional Functions) Order 2005 is amended as follows. 3 1 In article 2 in the definition of “the Directive” (“y Gyfarwyddeb”) for “89/48/EEC” substitute “2005/36/EC”. 2 In article 2 in the definition of “the Regulations” (“y Rheoliadau”) for the words “the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) (First General System) Regulations 2005” substitute “the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) Regulations 2007.”. This Order amends the General Teaching Council for Wales (Additional Functions) Order 2005 (“the 2005 Order”) by substituting for reference to Council Directive 89/48/EEC reference to Council Directive 2005/36/EC.

The 2005 Order is also amended by substituting for reference to the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) (First General System) Regulations 2005 reference to the European Communities (Recognition of Professional Qualifications) Regulations 2007.

1998 c. 30. The functions of the Secretary of State under these sections were transferred to the National Assembly for Wales by the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672) and then to the Welsh Ministers under paragraph 30 of Schedule 11 to the Government of Wales Act 2006 (c. 32).
