Title, application and commencement1

The title of these Regulations is the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Wales) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2006.

These regulations apply in relation to Wales.

These regulations come into force on 31 December 2006.

Amendment to the Animal and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Wales) Regulations 20062

The Animal and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Wales) Regulations 20063 are amended in accordance with this regulation.

In regulation 16(4), for “1 January 2007” substitute “1 April 2007”.

These Regulations amend the Animals and Animal Products (Import and Export) (Wales) Regulations 2006 (S.I.2006/1536 (W. 153)) (“the principal Regulations”).

Regulation 2 amends the principal Regulations to give effect to the extension of the European Union ban, under Commission Decision 2005/760/EC (OJ L. No. 285, 28.10.2005, p. 52) as amended, on the import of captive birds from third countries until 31 March 2007.
