These Regulations prescribe a kind of education and training for the purposes of section 75 of the Learning and Skills Act 2000 (“the 2000 Act”). Section 75 provides the extended remit of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales.

Regulation 2 prescribes education and training provided by, or on behalf of, an institution within the higher education sector in Wales for the purpose of enabling persons to become youth and community workers or as further training for persons who are youth and community workers. The effect of the prescription is that this kind of education and training is brought within the remit of the Chief Inspector under section 75 of the 2000 Act.
