The Food Hygiene (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2006

The National Assembly for Wales, being designated(1) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(2) in relation to measures relating to food (including drink), including the primary production of food, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section, makes the following Regulations:

Title, commencement and application

1.  The title of these Regulations is the Food Hygiene (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2006, they come into force on 15 June 2006 and they apply in relation to Wales.

Interpretation

2.  In these Regulations—

“the Principal Regulations” (“y Prif Reoliadau”) means the Food Hygiene (Wales) Regulations 2006(3);

Amendment of the Principal Regulations

3.  The Principal Regulations are amended in accordance with regulations 4 and 5 of these Regulations.

4.  In the Welsh text of sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (1) of regulation 5 (Enforcement) insert the words “neu'r awdurdod bwyd” after the words “gan yr Asiantaeth”.

5.  In the Welsh text of paragraph (9) of regulation 13 (Analysis etc. of samples) substitute the words “rheoliad hwn” for the words “Rheoliadau hyn”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

1.  These Regulations which are made in relation to Wales provide for two corrections to the Welsh text of regulation 5(1)(b) and regulation 13(9) of the Food Hygiene (Wales) Regulations 2006 respectively.

2.  A full Regulatory Appraisal on the effect that these Regulations will have on the costs of business has been prepared and placed in the library of the National Assembly for Wales. Copies may be obtained from the Food Standards Agency, 11th Floor, Southgate House, Wood Street, Cardiff CF10 1EW.
