Appointed Day 2 1 16 March 2005 is the appointed day for the coming into force of sections 42 and 43 of the Act; 2 1 April 2005 is the appointed day for the coming into force of sections 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40 and 41 of the Act. This Order is the second Commencement order made under the Children Act 2004 (“the Act”).

The Order brings sections 35 to 43 of and Schedule 3 to the Act, which relate to CAFCASS functions in Wales, into force in England and Wales. Sections 42 and 43 which deal with the transfers of property and staff are brought into force on 16 March 2005 and sections 35 to 41 and Schedule 3 are brought into force on 1 April 2005.
