Under section 118 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 a local education authority is under a duty to secure sufficient provision of nursery education for their area for children who have reached a certain age. These Regulations amend that age by referring to terms following a child’s third birthday instead of a child’s fourth birthday. 2005 No. 1813 (W.143) Made 5 July 2005 Coming into force 31 July 2005 In exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by sections 118(1)(b), and 138(7) and (8) of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998, now vested in the National Assembly for Wales, the National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations: 1998 c. 31.
