Ref="c5336991"/>;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-at">AT</Term>” (“<Term id="term-tc"><Emphasis>TC</Emphasis></Term>”) means attainment target;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text><CommentaryRef Ref="key-a7e4e1ced2b5f25b20941d4af8d030e7"/>...<Term science;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-school-year">school year</Term>” (“<Term id="term-blwyddyn-ysgol"><Emphasis>blwyddyn ysgol</Emphasis></Term>”) has the meaning given to it by section 97 of the Act;</Text></Para></ListItem><ListItem><Para><Text>“<Term id="term-section-1083a-and-b-orders">section 108(3)(a) and (b) orders</Term>” (“<Term RestrictStartDate="2004-11-10"><Title>Teacher assessment</Title><P1 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/wsi/2004/2915/article/4" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/wsi/2004/2915/article/4" id="article-4"><Pnumber><CommentaryRef Ref="key-abd29ff9397ba3c024916dd53260a160"/>4</Pnumber><P1para><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/wsi/2004/2915/article/4/1" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/wsi/2004/2915/article/4/1" id="article-4-1"><Pnumber>1</Pnumber><P2para><Text>The head teacher must make arrangements for each pupil to be assessed by a teacher in each relevant subject during the summer term (except the last two weeks thereof) in accordance with the provisions of this article and for a record of the results to be made by that teacher.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/wsi/2004/2915/article/4/2" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/wsi/2004/2915/article/4/2" id="article-4-2"><Pnumber>2</Pnumber><P2para><Text>The purpose of the assessment is to determine the level of attainment achieved by the pupil in each AT specified for each relevant subject which applies to the pupil and, except where article 6(3) applies, in the subject as calculated in accordance with article 5.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/wsi/2004/2915/article/4/3" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/wsi/2004/2915/article/4/3" id="article-4-3"><Pnumber>3</Pnumber><P2para><Text>The pupil must be assessed and a record of the results made by the teacher not later than two weeks before the end of the summer term.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 of the results is to consist of a statement of each level of attainment achieved by the pupil (whether or not that level is specified in relation to the second key stage by the relevant section 108(3)(a) and (b) order) in relation to every AT mentioned in paragraph (2) and, except where article 6(3) applies, of his or her level in the subject as calculated in accordance with article of mathematics, a pupil’s level of attainment in the subject is the average of the pupil’s levels in each AT but with his or her level in AT2 (number and algebra) weighted by a factor of (scientific enquiry) weighted by a factor of two.</Text></P2para></P2></P1para></P1></P1group><P1group RestrictStartDate="2004-11-10"><Title>Pupils not subject to provisions of the National Curriculum</Title><P1 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/wsi/2004/2915/article/6" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/wsi/2004/2915/article/6" id="article-6"><Pnumber><CommentaryRef Ref="key-9db036061506d703c0829531b3b4b902"/>6</Pnumber><P1para><P2 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/wsi/2004/2915/article/6/1" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/wsi/2004/2915/article/6/1" id="article-6-1"><Pnumber>1</Pnumber><P2para><Text>Article 5 is to have effect in relation to pupils as respects whom provisions of the National Curriculum do not apply (including pupils with statements of special educational needs) with the modifications specified in this article.</Text></P2para></P2><P2 the case of any relevant subject, one AT does not apply to such a pupil, article 5 is to have effect as if the number of ATs applying to the pupil were the total number of ATs in the subject, and the
