(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend the Education (Teachers' Qualifications and Health Standards) (Wales) Regulations 1999 so as to add to the categories of persons who may be qualified teachers a person –
who has a degree or equivalent qualification;
who has completed a course of initial teacher training which started before 1st August 2003 at an institution which was accredited under the Education (Teachers' Qualifications and Health Standards) (England) Regulations 1999; and
who did his or her teaching practice wholly or mainly in schools in Wales.
