The National Assembly for Wales and the Secretary of State, acting jointly in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 1 and 8(1) of the Animal Health Act 19811, make the following Order:

Title, application and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement) (Interim Measures) (Wales) (No. 2) (Amendment) Order 2003; it applies in relation to Wales only and comes into force on 31st January 2003.

Amendment of Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement) (Interim Measures) (Wales) (No. 2) Order 20022

The Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement) (Interim Measures) (Wales) (No.2) Order 20022 is amended in accordance with this article.

In article 1(2) “1st November 2003” is substituted for “1st February 2003”.

In article 3(1) of the Welsh language text only “Rhaid i berchennog neu geidwad unrhyw fochyn ar ddaliad hysbysu'n” is substituted for “Rhaid i berchennog unrhyw fochyn ar ddaliad neu berson sydd â gofal drosto i hysbysu'n”.

This Order, which applies to Wales only, amends the Pigs (Records, Identification and Movement) (Interim Measures) (Wales) (No. 2) Order 2002 (S.I.2002/2303 (W.228)), (“the principal Order”).

The only substantive change made to the principal Order by this Order is to amend the date that the principal Order ceases to have effect (from 1st February 2003 to 1st November 2003) (article 2). A defined term (ceidwad) is substituted for an equivalent phrase in the Welsh text of article 3(1).

A regulatory appraisal has not been prepared for this Order.
