Mae'r rheoliadau hyn yn gwneud mân ddiwygiadau i Reoliadau Mabwysiadu Plant o Wledydd Tramor (Cymru) 2001 (“Rheoliadau Cymru”) i adlewyrchu newidiadau arfaethedig i adran 56A o Ddeddf Mabwysiadu 1976 pan ddaw'r rhannau perthnasol o Ddeddf Mabwysiadu a Phlant 2002 i rym. Effaith y newidiadau hynny yw bod Rheoliadau Mabwysiadu Plant o Wledydd Tramor 2001, y mae Rheoliadau Cymru 2001 yn cyfeirio atynt, yn peidio â bod yn effeithiol. Mae'r rheoliadau hyn yn tynnu'r cyfeiriad hwnnw a rhoi yn ei le gyfeiriad at reoliadau a wnaed o dan adran 56A o Ddeddf Mabwysiadu 1976.
