Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on the Secretary of State by section 22(4) of the National Assistance Act 1948<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00001" marker="1"><p><ref eId="c00001" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1948/29">1948 c. 29</ref>. <i>See</i> sections 35(1) and 64(1) of the National Assistance Act 1948 for the definitions of “the Minister” and “prescribed” respectively, and article 2 of the Secretary of State for Social Services Order 1968 (<abbr class="acronym" title="Statutory Instrument">S.I.</abbr> <ref eId="c00002" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/1968/1699">1968/1699</ref>) which transferred all functions of the Minister of Health to the Secretary of State.</p></authorialNote> and now vested in the to the National Assembly for Wales by the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (<abbr class="acronym" title="Statutory Instrument">S.I.</abbr> <ref eId="c00003" commencement and application</heading><num>1.</num><paragraph eId="regulation-1-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>These Regulations may be cited as the National Assistance (Sums for Personal Requirements) (Wales) Regulations 2002 and shall come into force on 8th April 2002.</p></content></paragraph><paragraph eId="regulation-1-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>These Regulations shall apply to Wales only.</p></content></paragraph></hcontainer><hcontainer name="regulation" eId="regulation-2"><heading>Sum needed for personal requirements</heading><num>2.</num><content><p>The sum which under section 22(4) of the National Assistance Act 1948 a local authority shall assume that a person will need for that person’s personal requirements shall be £16.80 per week.</p></content></hcontainer><hcontainer name="regulation" eId="regulation-3"><heading>Revocation</heading><num>3.</num><content><p>The National Assistance (Sums for Personal Requirements) (Wales) Regulations 2001<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00003" marker="3"><p><ref eId="c00004" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/wsi/2001/1408"><abbr class="acronym" title="Statutory Instrument">S.I.</abbr> 2001/ 1408 (W.
