<Text>The National Assembly for Wales, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 126(4) of, and paragraph 2A of Schedule 12 to, the National Health Service Act 1977<FootnoteRef Ref="f00001"/> hereby makes the following Regulations:</Text>

Paragraph 2A of Schedule 4 was inserted by the Health and Social Security Act <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1984/48" id="c00004" Class="UnitedKingdomPublicGeneralAct" Year="1984" Number="0048">1984 (c. 48)</Citation>, Schedule 1, paragraph 3 and amended by section 13(2) and (3) of the Health and Medicines Act <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1988/48" id="c00005" Class="UnitedKingdomPublicGeneralAct" Year="1988" Number="0048">1988 (c. 48)</Citation>.</Text>

<Text>The functions of the Secretary of State under sections 126(4) of, and paragraph 2A of Schedule 12 to, the 1977 Act were transferred to the National Assembly for Wales by The National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999, <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/uksi/1999/672" id="c00006" Class="UnitedKingdomStatutoryInstrument" Year="1999" Number="0672">S.I.1999/672</Citation>, article 2 and Schedule 1, as amended by section 66(5) of the 1999 Act.</Text>
