SCHEDULE PURPOSES FOR OR IN CONNECTION WITH WHICH GRANTS ARE PAYABLE

11.  The training of persons granted a licence or authorisation to teach under regulations for the time being in force under section 218(3)(1) of the Education Reform Act 1988 to enable them to become qualified teachers.

Section 218(3) is amended by section 14(3) of the Education Act 1994 and is prospectively amended by section 10 of the Teaching and Higher Education Act 1998.
