The National Health Service (General Medical Services) Amendment (No.3) (Wales) Regulations 2000

Coming into force
The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by sections 29 and 126(4) of the National Health Service Act 19771:

Citation, commencement and application1.

(1)

These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Amendment (No.3) (Wales) Regulations 2000 and shall come into force on 1st August 2000.

(2)

These Regulations shall apply to Wales only.

Amendment of the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations 19922.

In Schedule 10 to the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations 1992 2, the following entries shall be inserted in such places in the alphabetical order of the entries as is appropriate –

“Finasteride – 1 mg tablets;”

“Propecia;”.

(This note does not form part of the Regulations)

These Regulations further amend the National Health Service (General Medical Services) Regulations 1992 (“the principal Regulations”), which regulate the terms on which General Medical Services are provided under the National Health Service Act 1977.

Regulation 2 adds the drug Finasteride 1mg (Propecia) to the list in Schedule 10 to the principal Regulations, which lists drugs and other substances that may not be prescribed for supply in the course of pharmaceutical services provided under the National Health Service Act 1977.
