Citation, commencement and extent1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Aviation Security (Air Cargo Agents) (Amendment) Regulations 2023.

These Regulations come into force on 21st July 2023.
(3)
These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

In the application of section 14 of the 1982 Act to an air cargo agent in accordance with paragraph (1), paragraph (d) of subsection (1A) shall have effect as if the words “in that area” were omitted.”.

These Regulations make amendments to legislation in the field of aviation security.
Regulation 2 amends the Aviation Security (Air Cargo Agents) Regulations 1993 (S.I. 1993/1073) by removing a limitation on directions issued by the Secretary of State to air cargo agents under Part 2 of the Aviation Security Act 1982 (c. 36) which required the directions to apply only to activities carried on at premises where air cargo was handled.
