The Social Security (Disability Additional Payment Day) Regulations 2023

Coming into force

The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(3) and (4) of the Social Security (Additional Payments) Act 20231.

Citation, commencement and extent1

These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Disability Additional Payment Day) Regulations 2023 and come into force on 13th June 2023.

These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Disability additional payments: qualifying day2

1st April 2023 is the disability additional payment day for the purpose of the disability additional payments under section 5 of the Social Security (Additional Payments) Act 2023.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations specify the disability additional payment day for the purpose of the disability additional payments under section 5 of the Social Security (Additional Payments) Act 2023 (“the Act”).

The specified day is 1st April 2023. As provided for by section 5(4) of the Act, this falls before the day on which these Regulations come into force.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, public or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
