The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8C of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018(1), and by sections 1(1), 3(1), 6(1), 9(3)(b) and (6), 15(3) and 77(2) of the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022(2).
A draft of these Regulations has been laid before, and approved by, both Houses of Parliament in accordance with paragraph 8F(1) of Schedule 7 to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, and sections 2(6), 3(3), 6(4), 77(5) and 77(6) of the Product Security and Telecommunications Infrastructure Act 2022.
2018 c. 16. Section 8C was inserted by section 21 of the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020 (c. 1).
