The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 115(3) and (4), 166(3)(a) and (b), and 167 of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999(1) and section 113(1) and (2) of, and paragraph 2(8) and (9)(b) of Schedule 1A to, the Local Government Finance Act 1992(2).
1999 c. 33. Section 167 is cited for the definition of “prescribed” as meaning “prescribed by regulations made by the Secretary of State”.
1992 c. 14. Section 113(1) and (2) was amended by paragraphs 40 and 52 of Schedule 7 to the Local Government Act 2003 (c. 26); section 80 of the Localism Act 2011 (c. 20); S.I. 2013/2597 and S.I. 2021/1265. Schedule 1A was inserted by Schedule 4 to the Local Government Finance Act 2012 (c. 17). There are other amendments not relevant to this instrument.
