This instrument inserts a new code of practice into regulation 2 and two new educational establishments into the Schedule to the Houses in Multiple Occupation (Specified Educational Establishments) (England) Regulations 2019.
Article 2 provides that an educational establishment that is listed in the Schedule to the 2019 Regulations and is a member of the code of practice specified in regulation 2 of this instrument is not a HMO for the purposes of the Housing Act 2004 (excluding Part 1). Article 3 adds further educational establishments to the list in that Schedule.
A copy of the code of practice referred to has been lodged in the libraries of both Houses of Parliament. A copy of this code can be obtained from the National Code Administrator, Unipol Student Homes, 155-157 Woodhouse Lane, Woodhouse, Leeds LS2 3ED, email NationalCodes@unipol.org.uk or online at www.nationalcode.org.uk.
