The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) Regulations 2022

Coming into force

The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8, 20(1) to (5A), 35, 86(2) and (4), 87(1) and (2) and 161(3) and (4) of the Health and Social Care Act 20081.

In accordance with section 20(8) of that Act, the Secretary of State has consulted such persons as the Secretary of State considers appropriate.

A draft of these Regulations was laid before Parliament in accordance with section 162(3) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and was approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.

Citation and commencement1

These Regulations may be cited as the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into force on 30th March 2022.

Extent and application2

These Regulations extend to England and Wales.

Amendment of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 20143

In regulation 1(6) of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 20142 for “31st March 2022” substitute “31st March 2025”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

These Regulations amend the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 (“the 2014 Regulations”).

These Regulations amend the expiry date of the 2014 Regulations so that they cease to have effect after 31st March 2025.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
