The European Union (Future Relationship) Act 2020 (References to the Trade and Cooperation Agreement) Regulations 2021
In accordance with paragraph 6(1) of Schedule 5 to that Act, a draft of this instrument has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
Citation, commencement, application, extent and interpretation1.
(1)
These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Future Relationship) Act 2020 (References to the Trade and Cooperation Agreement) Regulations 2021.
(2)
These Regulations come into force on the day after the day on which they are made.
(3)
The amendments made by these Regulations—
(a)
do not apply in relation to times before the coming into force of these Regulations (and, accordingly, section 37(4) and (5) of the Act continue to apply in relation to such times);
(b)
have the same extent as the enactments to which those amendments relate.
(4)
In these Regulations, “the Act” means the European Union (Future Relationship) Act 2020.
Amendment of references to the Trade and Cooperation Agreement in the Act2.
In the provisions of the Act specified in column (1) of the table in the Schedule, the references to the Trade and Cooperation Agreement specified in column (2) are substituted with the references specified in column (3).

Regulation 2 and the Schedule amend the European Union (Future Relationship) Act 2020 (c. 29) (“the Act”) to amend and update references in that Act to provisions of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (as defined in section 37 of the Act). Regulation 3 makes similar amendments to instruments amended by the Act.
