The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel and Operator Liability) (England) (Amendment) (No. 5) Regulations 2021

Coming into force
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 45B, 45F(2) and 45P(2) of the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 19841.

Citation, commencement, extent and application1.

(1)

These Regulations may be cited as the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel and Operator Liability) (England) (Amendment) (No. 5) Regulations 2021.

(2)

These Regulations come into force at 4.00 a.m. on 6th July 2021.

(3)

These Regulations extend to England and Wales and apply to England only.

Amendment to the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel and Operator Liability) (England) Regulations 20212.

(1)

The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel and Operator Liability) (England) Regulations 20212 are amended as follows.

(2)

In sub-paragraph (2)(a) of paragraph 44A of Schedule 4 (Euro 2020 invitees)—

(a)

at the end of sub-paragraph (v), omit “or”;

(b)

at the end of sub-paragraph (vi), insert “or”;

(c)

after sub-paragraph (vi), insert—

“(vii)

a person who has been accredited by UEFA or by the football association of a country whose team continues to compete in the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship;”.

(3)

In sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph 44B of Schedule 4 (Euro 2020 Final attendees)—

(a)

for “to attend” substitute “for the limited purpose of attending”;

(b)

after “in the Final”, insert “(other than in accordance with paragraph 44A(2)(a)(vii))”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations amend the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel and Operator Liability) (England) Regulations 2021 (S.I. 2021/582) to exempt from the duty to self-isolate an additional category of invitees of the Football Association Limited in connection with the UEFA European Football Championship.
