The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 46A(1), (2) and (4) and 46B(2) of the Marriage Act 1949(1) and sections 6A and 258 of the Civil Partnership Act 2004(2), makes the following Regulations.

1949 c. 76; sections 46A and 46B(2) were inserted by section 1(2) of the Marriage Act 1994 (c.34) and amended by S.I 2008/678. Functions previously conferred on the Chancellor of the Exchequer in 46A(1) were transferred to the Secretary of State by article 3(1) of, and paragraph 5 of Schedule 1 to, S.I. 2008/678.

2004 c. 33; section 6A was inserted by article 3 of, and paragraph 3 of the Schedule to, S.I. 2005/2000 and was amended by section 202 of the Equality Act 2010 (c. 15) and S.I. 2019/1458 and 2008/678. Functions previously conferred on the Chancellor of the Exchequer in subsection (1) were transferred to the Secretary of State by article 3(1) of, and paragraph 14(a) of Schedule 1 to, S.I. 2008/678.
