The Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (Processing of Victims’ Data for Immigration Purposes) (Extension of Relevant Period) Regulations 2021

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 81(4) of the Domestic Abuse Act 20211, the Secretary of State makes the following Regulations.

Citation, commencement and extent1.

(1)

These Regulations may be cited as the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (Processing of Victims’ Data for Immigration Purposes) (Extension of Relevant Period) Regulations 2021.

(2)

These Regulations come into force on 29th June 2021.

(3)

These Regulations extend to England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Extension of relevant period2.

The relevant period, as provided for in section 81(3) of the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 (review of processing of victims’ personal data for immigration purposes), is extended until the end of 29th December 2021.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations extend the period under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 within which the Secretary of State must review and report to Parliament on the processing of domestic abuse data carried out by specified public authorities for immigration purposes.

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, voluntary or public sector is foreseen.
