Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Rules25.

In Part 41 (Reference to the Court of Appeal of point of law or unduly lenient sentencing)—

(a)

in rule 41.3 (Form of notice of reference and application for permission), after paragraph (5) insert—

“(6)

A notice of reference must include or attach—

(a)

an electronic link to each material document that has been made available to the Registrar under rule 36.8(1)(a) (Duty of Crown Court officer); and

(b)

an electronic copy of any authority identified under paragraph (2)(e) or (4)(c), or if two or more such authorities are identified then electronic copies of each together in a single electronic document.”; and

(b)

in rule 41.4 (Respondent’s notice), after paragraph (5) insert—

“(6)

A respondent’s notice must include or attach—

(a)

an electronic link to each material document that has been made available to the Registrar under rule 36.8(1)(a) (Duty of Crown Court officer); and

(b)

an electronic copy of any authority identified under paragraph (4)(d), or if two or more such authorities are identified then electronic copies of each together in a single electronic document.”.
