Amendment of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020

2.—(1) The Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020 are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 4 (requirement to self-isolate)—

(a)for paragraph (7)(c)(1) substitute—

(c)the beginning of P’s period of self-isolation, where P or R, where P is a child, is notified under regulation 2A or 2B of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (Self-Isolation) (England) Regulations 2020 (“the 2020 Regulations”)(2).;

(b)after paragraph (7)(3) insert—

(7ZA) In paragraph (7)(c) “period of self-isolation” and “R” have the meanings given for the purposes of Part 1 of the 2020 Regulations (see regulations 3 and 5 of those Regulations)..

(3) In Schedule 2C(4) (mandatory testing after arrival in England)—

(a)in paragraph 3(1)(a)(ii), for “regulation 2” substitute “regulation 2A”;

(b)in paragraph 3(2), for “regulation 2” substitute “regulation 2A”;

(c)in paragraph 5(2), for “regulation 2” substitute “regulation 2A”.

A person notified, or a child in respect of whom a notification is given, under regulation 2A or 2B of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (Self-Isolation) (England) Regulations 2020 will be required to self-isolate in accordance with those Regulations from the moment the notification is given.

Paragraph (7A) was inserted by S.I. 2020/1644 and omitted by S.I. 2021/150.
