The Office for Students, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 42(1) and 44(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 20171, makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement1

This Order may be cited as the Power to Award Degrees etc. (The London Interdisciplinary School Ltd) (Amendment) Order 2021 and shall come into force on 1st January 2022.

Variation of Power to Award Degrees etc. (The London Interdisciplinary School Ltd) Order 20202

The Power to Award Degrees etc. (The London Interdisciplinary School Ltd) Order 2020 is varied in accordance with paragraphs (2), (3), (4) and (5).

For article 2, substitute—

The London Interdisciplinary School Ltd shall be competent to grant the following specified taught awards of the kind mentioned in section 42(2)(b) of the said Act:

a

BASc in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods;

b

BASc (Hons) in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods;

c

CertHE in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods; and

d

DipHE in Interdisciplinary Problems and Methods.

In article 3, substitute the word “award” with the word “awards”.

In article 4, substitute the first occurrence of the word “award” with the word “awards”.

In articles 3 and 4, substitute the word “paragraph” with the word “article”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order, made under sections 42(1) and 44(1) of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017, provides for a variation of the Power to Award Degrees etc. (The London Interdisciplinary School Ltd) Order 2020, so that The London Interdisciplinary School Ltd is authorised to award the specified taught awards mentioned in article 2 of this Order for a fixed term expiring on 31st December 2024. This Order will come into force on 1st January 2022.

An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on businesses and civil society organisations. The instrument has no impact on the public sector.
