Section 92 was amended by paragraph 32 of Schedule 4 to the Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act <ref eId="c00003" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2009/20">2009 (c. 20)</ref> (“the 2009 Act”).</p></authorialNote>, Northumberland County Council (“the Council”) made recommendations in a review to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00002" marker="2"><p>The Local Government Boundary Commission for England was established on 1st April 2010 by section 55(1) of the 2009 Act. The functions of the Electoral Commission under Chapter 3 of Part 4 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act <ref eId="c00004" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2007/28">2007 (c. 28)</ref> (“the 2007 Act”) were transferred under section 60 of the 2009 Act to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England on 1st April 2010.</p></authorialNote> for the related alteration of the boundaries of electoral divisions within the Council’s area.</p><formula name="enactingText"><p>The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has decided to give effect to the recommendations and makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 92(3) of that Act.</p></formula></preamble><body><article eId="article-1"><heading>Citation and commencement</heading><num>1.</num><paragraph eId="article-1-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>This Order may be cited as the Northumberland (Electoral Changes) Order 2021.</p></content></paragraph><paragraph eId="article-1-2"><num>(2)</num><content><p>This article comes into force on the day after the day on which this Order is made.</p></content></paragraph><paragraph eId="article-1-3"><num>(3)</num><intro><p>Article 2 comes into force—</p></intro><level class="para1" eId="article-1-3-a"><num>(a)</num><content><p>for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which this Order is made;</p></content></level><level class="para1" eId="article-1-3-b"><num>(b)</num><content><p>for all other purposes, on the ordinary day of election of councillors in England<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00003" marker="3"><p>The ordinary day of election of councillors in England is prescribed by section 37(1) of the Representation of the People Act <ref eId="c00005" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1983/2">1983 (c. 2)</ref>, as amended by section 18(2) of the Representation of the People Act <ref eId="c00006" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/1985/50">1985 (c. 50)</ref> and section 6(16) of the Wales Act <ref eId="c00007" href="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/ukpga/2017/4">2017 (c. 4)</ref>.</p></authorialNote> in 2021.</p></content></level></paragraph></article><article eId="article-2"><heading>Alteration of electoral division boundaries</heading><num>2.</num><paragraph eId="article-2-1"><num>(1)</num><content><p>The area marked A on the map referred to in the Northumberland (Reorganisation of Community Governance) (Parishes of Pegswood and Ashington) Order 2012<authorialNote class="footnote" eId="f00004" marker="4"><p>That Order was made on 19th March 2012 by Northumberland County Council under powers including section 86 of the 2007 Act; such Orders are not required to be made by statutory instrument.
