2. In this Order—
“the Act” means the Local Government and Housing Act 1989;
“the National Joint Council” means the National Joint Council for Local Government Services(1); and
“the National Joint Council’s Scheme” means the National Joint Council’s National Agreement on Pay and Conditions of Service(2).
The National Joint Council is the national negotiating body for pay and conditions in the local government sector, representing local government employers, their employees and local government trade unions.
The National Agreement on Pay and Conditions of Service is available on request from the Local Government Association.
