EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
Section 66 of the Airports Act 1986 empowers the Secretary of State by order to direct that, in their application to land within a designated airport, certain provisions of the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 19783 and regulations in force made under those provisions are to have effect subject to modifications as appear to the Secretary of State to be necessary or expedient to confer on the airport operator the functions exercisable under those provisions by local authorities.
The Airports (Designation) (Removal and Disposal of Vehicles) Order 19904 designates certain airports in a list set out in Schedule 1 to that Order and modifies the relevant provisions, as set out in Schedule 2 to that Order, in their application to the listed airports.
This Order adds Newcastle Airport to the list of such designated airports. An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as it has no impact on the costs of business, charities or voluntary bodies.
