PART 2 Amendments to secondary legislation

Amendment of the Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006

2.—(1) The Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006(1) are amended as follows.

(2) In regulation 2—

(a) omit the definition of “conventional Directive”;

(b) for the definition of “European Railway Agency” substitute—

““European Union Agency for Railways” means the Agency established by Regulation (EU) 2016/796(2) of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European Union Agency for Railways and repealing Regulation (EC) No 881/2004;”;

(c) omit the definition of “high-speed Directive”;

(d) after the definition of “railway” insert—

““Recast Safety Directive” means Directive (EU) 2016/798 of the European Parliament and the Council on railway safety (recast)(3);”.

(3) In regulation 18A(3)(c) for “TSIs” substitute “NTSNs”.
