Procedure on plea of guilty

25.4.—(1) This rule applies if—

(a)the defendant pleads guilty to an offence; and

(b)the court is satisfied that the plea represents a clear acknowledgement of guilt.

(2) The court need not receive evidence unless rule 25.16(4) applies (determination of facts for sentencing).
