Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1(2)
The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations, with the consent of the Treasury(1) in relation to paragraphs 5 to 12 and 22 of Schedule 1 and paragraphs 8, 23, 63 and 68 of Schedule 2 to these Regulations, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 8(1) and 8C(1) of, and paragraphs 1 and 7 of Schedule 4 and paragraph 21(b) of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018(2) and by section 41(1) of, and paragraph 12 of Schedule 4 to, the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020(3).
In accordance with paragraphs 1(1), 8F(1)(4) and 12(1) of Schedule 7 to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, a draft of these Regulations has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
Treasury consent is required pursuant to paragraph 3(1) of Schedule 4 to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018.
2018 c.16. The European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (“the 2018 Act”) was amended by the European Union (Withdrawal Agreement) Act 2020 (“the 2020 Act”); section 8C of the 2018 Act was inserted by section 21 of the 2020 Act.
Paragraph 8F of Schedule 7 to the 2018 Act was inserted by paragraph 51 of Schedule 5 to the 2020 Act.
