CHAPTER 1 U.K. Amendment of primary legislation

Amendment of the British Nationality Act 1981 U.K.

78.—(1) The British Nationality Act 1981 M1 is amended as follows.

(2) In section 50A (meaning of references to being in breach of immigration laws) M2 —

(a) in subsection (4)—

(i) after paragraph (b) insert—

“(ba) is not an Irish citizen who does not require leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom (see section 3ZA of the Immigration Act 1971);”;

(ii) omit paragraphs (d) and (e);

(b) omit subsection (5).
