Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The Secretary of State makes these Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972(1) and section 8(1) of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018(2).
The Secretary of State is a Minister designated(3) for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 in relation to energy and energy sources.
In accordance with paragraph 2(2) of Schedule 2 to the European Communities Act 1972, and paragraph 1(1) of Schedule 7 to the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018, a draft of this instrument has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament.
1972 c. 68. Section 2(2) was amended by section 27 of the Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006 (c. 51) and by section 3 of, and the Schedule to, the European Union (Amendment) Act 2008 (c. 7). The European Communities Act 1972 will be repealed on exit day by section 1 of the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16).
