The Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Prescribed Diseases) Amendment Regulations 2018
The Secretary of State is satisfied of the matters referred to in section 108(2)(a) and (b) of that Act.
Citation, commencement and interpretation1.

These Regulations may be cited as the Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Prescribed Diseases) Amendment Regulations 2018 and come into force on 28th September 2018.

In column 2—
(a)
in B15 for “Employment as a healthcare worker having contact”, substitute with “Contact”;

in D6(a) for “in or about a building”, substitute with “at a workplace” and after the words “wooden goods” insert “or products made wholly or partially of wood”;

These Regulations make amendments to the Social Security (Industrial Injuries) (Prescribed Diseases) Regulations 1985 (S.I. 1985/967) (“the principal Regulations”).
Regulation 2 makes amendments to Schedule 1 to the principal Regulations which prescribe diseases for which industrial injuries benefit is payable. It amends descriptions of occupations prescribed in relation to the prescribed diseases B15 (Anaphylaxis) and D6 (Carcinoma of the nasal cavity or associated air sinuses (nasal carcinoma)).
A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact is foreseen on the private, voluntary or public sector.
