The Police Powers of Designated Civilian Staff and Volunteers (Excluded Powers and Duties of Constables) Regulations 2018

Coming into force in accordance with regulation 1
The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 38(6C) of the Police Reform Act 20021, makes the following Regulations.
A draft of these Regulations has been laid before Parliament and has been approved by each House of Parliament in accordance with section 38(9C)2 of the Police Reform Act 2002.
Citation and commencement1
These Regulations may be cited as the Police Powers of Designated Civilian Staff and Volunteers (Excluded Powers and Duties of Constables) Regulations 2018 and come into force on the twenty-eighth day after the day on which they are made.
Amendment of Schedule 3B to the Police Reform Act 20022

The Police Reform Act 2002 is amended as follows.

In Part 1 of Schedule 3B3, after paragraph 3 insert—

The power of a constable, under section 55(6) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 19844, to conduct an intimate search if an officer of at least the rank of inspector considers under section 55(5) of that Act that an intimate search by a suitably qualified person is not practicable.
