Amendment of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 20057
Regulation 7 (hearing protection) of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005 M1 is amended as follows—
a
in paragraph (4) for “requirement of the Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 2002” substitute “
legal requirement
”
; and
b
after paragraph (4) insert—

In paragraph (4), “legal requirement” means any requirement of the Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 2002 or Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council on personal protective equipment and repealing Council Directive 89/686/EEC (OJ No L81, 31.3.2016, p51).
