The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 7, 10, 22, 30 and 31 of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971(1), makes the following Regulations.

In accordance with sections 7(7) and 31(3) of that Act the Secretary of State has consulted with the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs.

1971 c. 38. Section 22 was amended by section 177(1) of, and paragraph 12 of Schedule 4, to the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979 (c. 2). Section 37 was amended by section 52 of the Criminal Law Act 1977 (c. 45). Other amendments have been made to sections 7, 10, 30, 31 and 37 not relevant to these Regulations. See the definition of “prescribed” in section 37(1).
