The National Health Service (Mandate Requirements) Regulations 2017

Coming into force

The Secretary of State for Health makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 13A(9) and 272(7) of the National Health Service Act 20061.

In accordance with section 13A(1) of that Act, the Secretary of State has published and laid before Parliament the mandate2.

Citation, commencement and expiry1

These Regulations may be cited as the National Health Service (Mandate Requirements) Regulations 2017 and come into force on 10th April 2017.

These Regulations cease to have effect at the end of 31st March 2018.

Mandate requirements2

The requirements set out in paragraph 1.6 of the mandate to the National Health Service Commissioning Board3 and paragraph 6.2 of the Annex in that mandate, published by the Secretary of State on 20th March 2017 and laid before Parliament on that date4 have effect.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

Regulation 2 of these Regulations gives effect to the requirements set out in the Secretary of State’s mandate to the National Health Service Commissioning Board for the financial year from 1st April 2017 to 31st March 2018. The mandate was published and laid before Parliament on 20 March 2017.
