The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by section 91(3) of the Postal Services Act 2011(1).
1. This Order may be cited as the Judgments Enforcement (Northern Ireland) (Amendment) Order 2017 and comes into force on 6th April 2017.
2. In Article 14(3)(b) of the Judgments Enforcement (Northern Ireland) Order 1981(2) (stay of enforcement in cases of insolvency) after subparagraph (v) add—
“(vi)an application will be made to the court for a postal administration order under Part 4 of the Postal Services Act 2011.”.

The Postal Services Act 2011 creates a special administration regime, the objective of which is to secure the continued provision of postal services on the insolvency of a universal service provider.
Article 2 inserts a paragraph into the Judgments Enforcement (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 to stay enforcement of judgements for an extended period where there is a reasonable likelihood that an application will be made to the court for a postal administration order under Part 4 of the 2011 Act.
No impact assessment has been prepared for this Order as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.

S.I. 1981/226 (N.I. 6). Article 14 was amended by S.I.s 1989/2405 (N.I. 19), 2006/3336 (N.I. 21), and 2008/948. S.I. 2008/948 inserted a second subparagraph (iv) in error.
