The Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2016
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England has decided to give effect to the recommendations and makes the following Order in exercise of the power conferred by section 92(3) of the Act:
Citation and commencement1.
(1)
This Order may be cited as the Newark and Sherwood (Electoral Changes) Order 2016.
(2)
This Order comes into force—
(a)
for the purpose of proceedings preliminary or relating to the election of councillors, on the day after the day on which it is made;
(b)
Interpretation2.
In this Order—
Related alterations of district ward boundaries3.
(1)
The area marked “Area A” on the map ceases to be part of the Newark Beacon district ward and becomes part of the Balderton North & Coddington district ward.
(2)
The area marked “Area E” on the map ceases to be part of the Newark Castle district ward and becomes a part of the Farndon & Fernwood district ward.

This Order gives effect to recommendations made by Newark and Sherwood District Council to the Local Government Boundary Commission for England for related alterations of district ward boundaries. These alterations are related to parish boundary changes made by the Newark and Sherwood District Council (Reorganisation of Community Governance) Order 2014.
The new district ward boundaries apply in respect of elections to be held on and after the ordinary day of election of councillors in 2019.
Article 3 alters the district wards of (i) Balderton North & Coddington, (ii) Newark Beacon, (iii) Newark Castle and (iv) Farndon & Fernwood.
An impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
