http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2016/844/article/7The Hornsea Two Offshore Wind Farm Order 2016enINFRASTRUCTURE PLANNINGStatute Law Database2025-07-16Expert Participation2018-05-08 This Order grants development consent for, and authorises the construction, operation and maintenance of up to 2 offshore wind farms with a combined capacity of up to 1,800 megawatts in the North Sea approximately 89 kilometres off the coast of Yorkshire together with associated development. This Order imposes requirements in connection with the development and authorises the compulsory purchase of land (including rights in land) and the right to use land and to override easements and other rights. PART 2 7 1 The undertaker may at any time maintain the authorised project, except to the extent that this Order or an agreement made under this Order provides otherwise. 2 No maintenance works, the likely effects of which on the environment must be assessed in accordance with the EIA Regulations and are not assessed in the environmental statement, may take place, unless otherwise approved by the MMO or the local planning authority. 3 Where the MMO or local planning authority’s approval is required under paragraph (2), consent may be given only where it has been demonstrated to the satisfaction of the MMO or the local planning authority that the approval sought is unlikely to give rise to any materially new or materially different environmental effects from those assessed in the environmental statement.
