<P><Text>Regulation 2(2) amends Part 3 of the Schedule to the 2005 Regulations in order to transpose the changes made to Annex <Acronym Expansion="3">III</Acronym> to <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/european/directive/2004/0033" id="c00006" Class="EuropeanUnionDirective" Year="2004" Number="0033">Directive 2004/33/EC</Citation> by <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/european/directive/2014/0110" id="c00007" Class="EuropeanUnionDirective" Year="2014" Number="0110">Directive 2014/110/EU</Citation>. This allows testing for West Nile Virus as an alternative to a 28 day deferral period for blood donors returning from West Nile Virus affected areas.</Text></P>
<P><Text>Regulation 2(3) amends Part 5 of the Schedule to the 2005 Regulations in order to transpose the changes made to Annex V to <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/european/directive/2004/0033" id="c00008" Class="EuropeanUnionDirective" Year="2004" Number="0033">Directive 2004/33/EC</Citation> by <Citation URI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/european/directive/2011/0038" id="c00009" Class="EuropeanUnionDirective" Year="2011" Number="0038">Directive 2011/38/EU</Citation>. This relaxes the quality control requirements for maximum pH values for units of platelets at the end of the shelf life.</Text></P>
<P><Text>A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no, or no significant, impact on the private, public or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
