Coming into force
The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 272(7) and (8) and 273(1) of, and paragraph 10 of Schedule 4 to, the National Health Service Act 20061.

Citation and commencement1.

This Order may be cited as the National Health Service Trusts (Trust Funds: Appointment of Trustees) (Amendment) and Nottingham University Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Trust Funds: Appointment of Trustees) (Revocation) Order 2016 and comes into force on 1st April 2016.

Amendment of the National Health Service Trusts (Trust Funds: Appointment of Trustees) Order 20002.

In the Schedule (National Health Service Trusts for which trustees are appointed) to the National Health Service Trusts (Trusts Funds: Appointment of Trustees) Order 20002, omit the following entries—

(a)

“The Hammersmith Hospitals National Health Service Trust”;

(b)

“The Royal Free Hampstead National Health Service Trust”.

Revocation of order3.

The Nottingham University Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Trust Funds: Appointment of Trustees) Order 20063 is revoked.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order revokes an order which provides for the appointment of trustees to a specified National Health Service Trust, and amends the National Health Service Trusts (Trust Funds: Appointment of Trustees) Order 2000 (S.I. 2000/212) (“the Appointment Order”), which provides for the appointment of trustees for the National Health Service trusts specified in the Schedule.

Article 2 of this Order amends the Appointment Order to remove from the list of National Health Service trusts for which the Secretary of State must appoint trustees in the Schedule, the Hammersmith Hospitals National Health Service Trust and the Royal Free Hampstead National Health Service Trust.

Article 3 of this Order revokes the Nottingham University Hospitals National Health Service Trust (Trusts Funds: Appointment of Trustees) Order 2006 (S.I. 2006/1741).

A full impact assessment has not been produced for this instrument as no impact on the private or voluntary sectors is foreseen.
