EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This Note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations give effect in UK law to the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment, together with its Protocol on Matters Specific to Aircraft Equipment.
Regulation 6 provides for the international interest provided for by Articles 2 to 7 of the Cape Town Convention as modified by the Aircraft Protocol (including articles II, III and IV of the Aircraft Protocol) to have effect in UK law.
A full impact assessment of the effect that this instrument will have on the cost of business, the voluntary sector and the public sector is available from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills on the gov.uk website (www.gov.uk). An Explanatory Memorandum and a transposition note are available alongside the instrument on the www.legislation.gov.uk website. Copies have also been placed in the Libraries of both Houses of Parliament.

Explanatory Memorandum
Explanatory Memorandum sets out a brief statement of the purpose of a Statutory Instrument and provides information about its policy objective and policy implications. They aim to make the Statutory Instrument accessible to readers who are not legally qualified and accompany any Statutory Instrument or Draft Statutory Instrument laid before Parliament from June 2004 onwards.
