The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 is amended as follows.

In section 107 (criminal liability for making or dealing with infringing articles, etc)52 —
a
in subsection (4)(a), for “a fine not exceeding £50,000” substitute “a fine”;
b
in subsection (4A)(a), for “a fine not exceeding £50,000” substitute “a fine”.

In section 198 (criminal liability for making, dealing with or using illicit recordings)53 —

in subsection (5)(a), for “a fine not exceeding £50,000” substitute “a fine”;
